DeWitt Public Schools promotes student learning and achievement by providing leadership, guidance and support that directly impacts teaching and learning, school leadership and continuous school improvement. Each school has developed school improvement goals to support these activities.

School Improvement Goals

In the area of school improvement the Scott staff, led by our school improvement steering committee, has continued to focus on the area of written expression. We have developed a consistent approach to writing assessment for the beginning and end of the year and continued to fine tune our instructional approaches in writing. We have also added a goal in the area of technology integration. Our school improvement goals are:

  • All students will improve the quality of their written expression.
  • All students will learn to use and incorporate at least one electronic resource as a portion of their required research report and/or project.
