about our School
DeWitt High School Handbook and Code of Conduct
It is the mission of the faculty of DHS to help create the future by developing strong life-long learners and citizens through teaching, guiding, mentoring, and coaching. It is our responsibility to teach our students in accordance with the highest standards and expectations so that they may be prepared to independently and interdependently impact a rapidly changing and diverse world.

Sean Wade, Assistant Principal
We are strong advocates for safe, civil, and tolerant high schools where every student who attends has support, care, concern, and is challenged as they progress thorough their secondary education. We have found that when parents, students, staff, and everyone associated with a high school work in a partnership focused on high levels of student achievement, coupled with a recognition and focus on continual growth and improvement, students achieve and relationships are fostered.
Open, honest, and consistent communication is a key to the development of strong relationships within a school community. Please call me at any time with questions, concerns, clarifications, or to answer the question often heard about high schools, "What's going on at that high school?"
Our young people are, after all, the most precious asset this country has to offer and we take the charge of working with them in providing an excellent secondary education very seriously.
