Successful and contributing citizens of tomorrow will need to be productive in a global society. By joining together with our community and families, we will provide an environment of excellence that results in high levels of achievement for each and every student.
Guiding Principles
DeWitt Public Schools accepts the responsibility to always focus on our children first.
We believe these principles guide the work of the district.

Determining A Strategic Direction
In 2006, the DeWitt Board of Education conducted a strategic planning process to set direction for the district. The 2006 Strategic Plan focused on many areas.
District level action plans focus on the following areas.
- All students achieve at high levels
- All students will learn in an environment that supports the whole child
- As the district grows, resources will continue to be allocated to promote student achievement, quality programs, and state of the art innovations.
- All support staff contribute to positive learning readiness and provide a welcoming and helpful environment to everyone.
- All staff will engage in professional learning to enhance service to students and families.
- Establish two-way communication with relevant community groups about district activities and programs.
- To comply with all state mandates for information collection management, and reporting.
- The budget process is standardized for comparison, evaluation, and decision-making purposes.
